Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question that is not listed?

What type of roofing materials do you use?

We use all types of available roofing materials on the market. We install everything from typical asphalt shingles and various types of standing seam metal applications, all the way to more commercial applications like TPO.

How long does replacing a roof typically take?

Most residential roof installations take one to two days to complete, depending on the size of the home and the material used.

How can we get an estimate?

We prefer to do an onsite evaluation, this approach allows us to be more accurate during the estimating process. However, using interactive measuring tools, we can also estimate roof replacement cost remotely if needed. A customer can contact us via our webpage, or by the phone numbers listed.

Do we have to be out of the house when you are replacing the roof?

Absolutely not. Our professional team of installers will present minimal obstacles to our customers daily lives. You can definitely expect construction noise while work is being performed, this could make for an annoying "Zoom" meeting if you're working from home, or it could present a problem during nap time for small children. Also, if a satellite dish is installed on a roof, programming will be temporarily unavailable while that portion of the roof is being replaced.

Can I remove ice from my roof?

We always recommend calling a professional when any roof work needs to be performed.

What are ice dams?

An "ice dam" is when ice builds up at the lower edge of a roof. This build-up of ice eventually prevents water and melted snow from draining freely off of the roof, causing water to puddle on the roof. This phenomenon can cause a myriad of problems, including but not limited to, interior leak damage to walls and ceilings. It can also be a safety hazard for people standing or walking beneath the dam.

How do you calculate the amount of shingles I will need for my roof?

Roofs are measured by the "square." A "square" equals 100 square feet. Each "square" contains 3 bundles of shingles.

Why is there discoloring in my roof?

Most discoloration present on roofs is due to algae. Algae is not typically harmful to roofs, and there are options available to remove the algae if needed. However, some roofs appear discolored or faded because they are well past the lifespan of the shingle. We recommend calling a professional to evaluate your roof.

What kind of ventilation can I use on my roof?

Ventilation is an extremely necessary component of you roof system. There are various types of vents on the market, and a professional will be able to educate you on which type, or collaboration of types would best suit your specific roof structure.

My home was damaged by hail, what is the turn time to fix this?

We definitely recommend acting as swiftly as possible in the event that your roof may have been damaged. Even if you think the damaged occurred in previous years, call your roofer for an evaluation and they will walk you through the entire process.

I got my check from the insurance adjuster for hail damage, now what?

If you haven't already, contact a roofing professional. Get them to evaluate your roof, insurance adjusters make mistakes too, and its always great to have a second set of eyes on the project.

Will you work with my insurance company to help me move forward with my roofing job?

Absolutely. Our dedicated team of professionals are very experienced at working with homeowners, in conjunction with their insurance companies, to make the whole experience as seamless and stress free as possible.
